Volvo Financial Services (VFS) has announced that Carlos Ribeiro has been appointed President of its South America Region. He takes up his new position on July 1, 2020, and will be responsible for developing relationships with and supporting customers, dealers and other business partners in Brazil, Chile and Peru. Carlos will be based in Curitiba, Brazil and report to Marcio Pedroso, President Volvo Financial Services. He will be a member of the VFS Executive Management Team.
Carlos has more than 25 years in various senior management positions and brings extensive experience in financial services. He worked most recently as President of Banco Komatsu in São Paulo, Brazil. Carlos has also held roles as CFO & COO for Gulf Bank, CEO & Regional Vice President for GMAC Financial Services, among others. During his international career, Carlos has lived and worked in the UK, the USA, Kuwait, Australia, Argentina and Brazil.

In addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Faculdades Associadas do Ipiranga in São Paulo, Brazil, Carlos has attended the Advanced Management Program in Finance by The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in the USA, as well as the Advanced Management Program in Business Management at The Darden School at the University of Virginia in the USA and several leadership development programs in Belgium and Switzerland. He is fluent in Portugese, English and Spanish.
