Volvo Financial Services

Trust Center

Protecting the information and services our customers rely on

At Volvo Financial Services, protecting information and maintaining the resilience of our services are important parts of earning and maintaining customer trust. We work with Volvo Group security teams and external specialists to identify and manage cyber risk, protect our systems and data, respond to security events, and support effective recovery.

Govern

How we oversee security

Volvo Financial Services has dedicated security professionals, including a Chief Information Security Officer, with roles focused on cyber, physical and technical security.

Our security governance includes regular committee oversight of security and risk management. Security strategy, incidents and emerging issues are routinely reported to leadership to support awareness, accountability and informed decision-making.

Identify

How we identify and prioritize risk

Volvo Financial Services maintains structured records for applications, technology architecture, privacy obligations and security risks. Systems are classified according to their security requirements and the criticality of the data they contain.

Business Impact Analyses¹ and risk assessments help us identify and prioritize critical systems. These systems are supported by standardized IT controls, annual documentation reviews, audits and activities designed to address relevant market-specific regulatory requirements.

Personal data processing activities are documented and reviewed with Privacy by Design² oversight.

Protect

How we protect systems and data

Volvo Group and Volvo Financial Services layered security to help protect physical and digital environments, networks, applications and data. Volvo Financial Services Information Security supplements Volvo Group capabilities with targeted controls, risk-based reviews and services such as security testing, audits and encryption.

New technology initiatives undergo required security assessments before deployment. Systems in production are supported through ongoing monitoring and vulnerability management³. Employee training, phishing simulations and security communications also help strengthen security awareness across the organization.

Detect

How we detect potential security threats

Volvo Financial Services works with internal and external security specialists to support the detection of potential security threats. Defined escalation paths help ensure that security events receive the appropriate attention and expertise, including support from offensive security testing⁴.

Employees also receive tools and training to help them recognize and report risky situations and sensitive information, strengthening early detection and security awareness.

Respond

How we respond to security incidents

Security incidents are handled through severity-based cyber response plans⁵. Volvo Financial Services and Volvo Group procedures address technical response, privacy breach management, escalation and, when appropriate, support from insurance, legal and forensic specialists.

Notifications to affected third parties and relevant authorities are managed in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Depending on the situation, response measures may also include access restrictions, recovery validation and local regulatory reporting.

Recover

How we support recovery and resilience

Volvo Financial Services’ recovery planning focuses on restoring systems, data, operations and business relationships quickly and accurately. Recovery activities are supported by agreements with external IT partners and close coordination between technology, business and operational teams.

Volvo Group recovery capabilities and architectural approaches, including cloud hosting and virtualization⁶, help strengthen resilience and can support faster recovery following an incident.
